Dr. Teresa Padró

Dr. Teresa Padró is a Senior Scientist at the ICCC- IR-Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau since 2006 and coordinator of the research group on “Biomarkers for Cardiovascular Disease Status” at the Biomedical Research Institute Sant Pau (IIB Sant Pau).

Previous appointments include a position as Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Gaubius-Institute TNO (Leiden, Netherlands) and at the University of Münster (Medical School) in Germany as well a position as Staff Scientist at the University of Münster for more than 10 years.

Dr. Padró research focuses in the study of disease-targets and novel biomarkers with potential use in prevention, disease diagnosis and treatment in the field of vascular remodelling and atherosclerosis, haemostasis, and ischemic heart disease. She has wide experience in basic, pre-clinical and clinical research, with more than 100 articles published in high-impact scientific journals her work has been referenced over 2500 times in the scientific literature, and she holds 3 patents.

Dr. Padró is principal investigator and co-investigator of competitive funded projects in the cardiovascular field at international and national level and active member of prestigious international societies in cardiology and thrombosis.
